Legislation approved by a Senate panel Tuesday aims to bolster financial protections for active duty National Guard members and reservists.

The federal Servicemembers Civil Relief Act doesn’t necessarily extend to those people, so the Attorney General’s office made a state-level protection bill part of its agenda for this session.

The measure helps protect Guard members and reservists who’ve been on active duty for at least 30 days from foreclosures and default.

Business owners in Indiana’s vaping industry – making and selling liquids for e-cigarettes – say despite all the work that’s gone into legislation regulating e-liquids, proposed requirements are still too strict.

A Senate committee Wednesday unanimously approved the requirements.

Light headlines Purdue Kickoff Luncheon

A three-time Super Bowl Champion says he is encouraged by the direction of Purdue’s football program.

Matt Light was the keynote speaker Friday at the Boilermakers annual Kickoff Luncheon.

He played for Purdue from 1996 to 2000 before a ten year career with the New England Patriots.

Light says despite some recent ups and downs, he thinks the current batch of Boilers have what it takes to put together a successful season.
