Christina and Michelle Naughton have been hailed by the San Francisco Examiner for their “stellar musicianship, technical mastery, and awe-inspiring artistry”. The sisters perform Friday evening in Loeb Playhouse for Purdue Convocations. WBAA's John Clare spoke to them about the concert, about recording, and social media.

The Wabash Valley Youth Symphony present their 17th season opening concert Sunday, November 12th at 7 pm at the Long Center for the Arts in Lafayette. The program includes Mendelssohn's Fifth Symphony "Reformation," and two works by Maurice Ravel, the Mother Goose Suite, and Tzigane - featuring violinist Christina Shi.

British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor latest release, Homage, features musical tributes. Among these are Felix Mendelssohn and Cesar Franck looking back to Bach; Busoni transcribing Bach’s monumental Chaconne; Frederic Chopin reviving the traditional Barcarolle of Venetian gondoliers; and Franz Lizst’s tribute to Italian folksong, Venezia e Napoli. Finally in the digital release only, Maurice Ravel looks to the baroque for his Tombeau de Couperin.

The Bach Chorale Singers perform this Saturday evening, October 15th, at St. John’s Episcopal Church. On the program are German works, by Brahms, Mendelssohn, and Bach. Conductor Michael Bennett says the program represents love, both sacred and secular.  WBAA’s John Clare spoke to Bennett about “Brahms - Liebeslieder Walzer” in the WBAA studios.
