Steve Earle moved to Nashville when he was 19 years old and fell under the spell of Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and other members of the so-called “Outlaw” movement. They chafed under the restrictions they felt were placed on country artists. So they started to make records the way they wanted to.
Earle (@SteveEarle) continues to follow in their footsteps and pays homage to them on his new album, “So You Wannabe An Outlaw.” He joins Here & Now‘s Robin Young to talk about it.
