We have encountered some issues with the manufacturer that produces the HD Radio equipment needed to complete our upgrades on WBAA Jazz 101.3 FM HD2. Unfortunately, WBAA Jazz HD2 is off the air. We anticipate restoration of the WBAA Jazz HD2 broadcast by as soon at Tue, Feb 4. Thank you for your patience.

This has not impacted WBAA News AM 920 or WBAA Classical 101.3 FM. You can also listen to WBAA Jazz online at wbaa.org/listen-on-air and with the WBAA app. Thank you again for your patience as we make these essential upgrades.

Sears To Close Lafayette, Indy, Muncie Stores In September

Three Indiana Sears stores will close in early September – including the one in Lafayette’s Tippecanoe Mall.

The Sears locations in Indianapolis and Muncie were also on the list of the 63 stores that will be shutting down after Sears found them to be, in the words of a corporate press release, “non-profitable.”

The Auto Centers at those locations will be shuttered in late July.

The original list, released Thursday, named 100 troubled stores, but only slated 72 for closure. Sears then trimmed that number to 63. But the latest Sears Holdings statement says the others are being “evaluated further.”

Liquidation sales at Sears will begin as early as mid-June.
