An Indianapolis real estate businessman and philanthropist has passed away. Eugene Glick was 92 years old.

Gene B. Glick Company has more than 18,000 apartments in ten states. The money the entrepreneur accrued through his business ventures he gave back to the community.

Glick and his wife Marilyn gave millions to arts, education, and youth programs throughout the state including helping funded the only children’s shelter in Indianapolis at the Children’s Bureau.

Organization President Tina Coler says even with all his success, Glick never lost focus on what was important.

“He was extremely humble in how he approached the work that he did with philanthropy and helping people in the community,” she says. “He touched the lives of so many individuals in such a kind, unassuming way.”

Glick graduated from Indiana University and served in World War II.
