Ask The Mayor: Frankfort's Chris McBarnes On Replacing Police And Preservationists

City of Frankfort

For the third time in two years, a Frankfort police officer has left his post due to bad behavior off the clock. That’s an amount equal to an entire shift of patrolmen under the current scheme. So is it time for stronger words and actions from department leadership?

This week on WBAA’s Ask The Mayor, we talk with Frankfort’s Chris McBarnes about whether he’ll lean on a police chief he’s lauded over and over to get his cops in line.

And, speaking of people losing their jobs, the mayor recently fired both the president and vice president of the city’s Historic Preservation Commission. The move stems from a disagreement over how that body dealt with the developers of an apartment building the mayor has been touting as one of the next big investments in Frankfort.

But the former civil servants now say they want to take McBarnes to court – so how will he show his version of the story is the right one?
