2019 marked the second year where WBAA, along with the Lafayette Daybreak Rotary Club, the Journal & Courier, Duncan Hall, and Purdue College of Education, partnered to ask high school seniors to share what they believe.

This I Believe is WBAA's first essay program for West Central Indiana (Lafayette area) high school seniors. An expression of where their minds are as they are about to enter the adult world.

This I Believe was started by journalist Edward R. Murrow in 1951 to allow anyone able to distil the guiding principles by which they lived. The top 10 essays are chosen and authors read their essay at the Lafayette Daybreak Rotary where they will also receive a $100 scholarship check from the Rotarians. The essays air on WBAA and are also printed in the Journal & Courier. The program concludes with a reception at Duncan Hall when each author reads their essay.

WBAA aired the winner's essays in their authors’ voices March 4-8th & March 11-15th. The audio may also be streamed at WBAA.org.

Partners include: Journal & Courier, Duncan Hall, Purdue College of Education, & Lafayette Daybreak Rotary.
