TSC receives money from state's Unclaimed Property Division

Indiana’s attorney general is getting the word out about millions of dollars owed to Hoosiers.

Greg Zoeller says statewide there is more than $350-million in unclaimed property.

He stopped by the Tippecanoe School Corporation administration building today with a check for nearly 35-hundred dollars.

Superintendent Scott Hanback says they will try to return the money to the accounts it originally came from.

He says if that isn't possible the check will be deposited into the district's General Fund.

Zoeller is encouraging residents to check the Indiana Unclaimed Propertywebsite or mobile app to see if they have anything owed to them—such as investment earnings or money from savings and checking accounts.

He says unclaimed property does not include abandoned vehicles or real estate.
