Tessellated 1/11 Preview

Artist Jackie Head and Samantha Holmes are featured in the next Ringel Gallery exhibit, Tessellated. They'll speak at the opening, Thursday evening at 5:30pm at Purdue's Stewart Center. WBAA's John Clare spoke to Director Elizabeth Erlewine about the new installation, inspirations, and interacting with artists.

The opening reception of Tessellatedat 5:30PM on Thursday, January 11 in Ringel Gallery, with comments by the artists. It runs through Saturday, February 17th. Ringel Gallery is located in Stewart Center, 128 Memorial Mall, West Lafayette, and is open Monday - Saturday, 10AM-5PM, and Thursday 10AM-8PM. All Purdue Galleries exhibitions and events are free and open to the public.

John Nasukaluk Clare is comfortable behind a microphone, streaming video or playing violin. A former broadcaster for NPR, John has previously worked with Voice of America, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation and stations in Texas, Kansas, Nevada, California, and Pennsylvania. In 2005, Clare earned the Deems Taylor Award from ASCAP for radio broadcasting, citing his work on 20/20 Hearing. Having performed with famed tenors Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli, John has worked with the Mozart Festival Texas, Mid Texas Symphony, Nevada Chamber Symphony, Shreveport Symphony, Abilene Philharmonic and Wichita Symphony Orchestra.
