New lift station in the works in West Lafayette
By Sam Klemet
West Lafayette is moving forward with a nearly $4.5-million project.
The city is accepting bids for a lift station and force main.
Designer Joe Teusch says it will serve a roughly 780 acre area around Kalberer Road, Soldiers Home Road, and Kent Avenue.
He hopes to accept the best bid by September. Teusch says if everything goes according to schedule, the lift station could be complete by late next year.
The city is applying for state revolving fund loans to help pay for the project.
Officials say if that is not approved, West Lafayette will have to finance the station through its Capital Improvement Fund.
