Holcomb Chooses State Auditor Crouch As Running Mate

Indiana Republican governor candidate Eric Holcomb says State Auditor Suzanne Crouch will be his running mate on the November ballot.

Holcomb, who in March was sworn in as lieutenant governor, was nominated this week by the Indiana Republican State Committee to run for governor after Pence accepted Donald Trump's invitation to run for U.S. Vice President.

In a statement released Friday, Holcomb says Crouch brings “a strong record, an impressive resume and valuable experience in four separate and important roles in local and state government, at both the legislative and executive levels.”

Pence appointed Crouch to the state auditor position in December of 2013 following the resignations of Dwayne Sawyer and Tim Berry. She won election to the office in 2014.

Prior to becoming state auditor, she was elected to four terms in the Indiana House of Representatives, and served as vice chair of the House Ways and Means Committee.

Crouch’s political experience began in her hometown of Evansville, where she was elected to two terms as Vanderburgh County Auditor, then went on to serve on the Vanderburgh County Board of Commissioners.

She graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor's Degree in political science.
