GLC launches interactive Hometown2Hometown.com

A new interactive website to learn more about the Greater Lafayette Community is up and running.

Greater Lafayette Commerce launched Hometown2Hometown.com, which is an online tool that provides information about what’s happening in the area.

Jennifer McGarvey is a spokesperson for Subaru of Indiana Automotive whose plant is located in Lafayette.

She sees the site as a way to establish new relationships abroad.

“The new Hometown2Hometown website really will be a great tool for our Japanese associates.  Many of them are here from three to five years.  So, before they come in, it'll be a great tool for them to be able to see what daily life is like here," she said.  "Also, to be able to share their cultural experiences with their families back in Japan.  So, it's way for them to get connected with their families.”

When visitors click on the site, they will see pictures and information about area attractions.

Pat Corey designed it.  She believes it enhances the community’s global profile.

She also says the site is a way for parents of Purdue international students to learn more about where their children are studying.

The website features five live cameras that are positioned on campus, in Lafayette, and West Lafayette.

There are five live webcams. They are at Purdue, the Pedestrian Bridge, Columbian Park Zoo, and Artists’ Own Co-op Gallery.

You can see the site here.
