Future of WL City Hall up in the air

The future of West Lafayette City hall remains uncertain following January’s water pipe break and ensuing discovery of mold in the building.

Preliminary estimates predict a roughly six-month timeframe to determine the full scope of the damage.

There no cost estimates yet for the work.

Mayor John Dennis says the Development and Engineering departments are currently located in the Morton Community Center.

The Clerk Treasurer and Mayor’s offices have been relocated to the West Lafayette Police Department.

Dennis says an accessible location is necessary to hold public meetings.

He hopes the West Lafayette Public library can continue to assume most of that responsibility.
