Former Purdue administrator sentenced to probation

A former associate dean of students at Purdue will not spend time in prison.

Tippecanoe Superior Court Five Judge Les Meade sentenced Pablo Malavenda to two years probation.

The punishment comes after he admitted last month to stealing household items from the West Lafayette Walmart in October.

The Class-D Felony could have meant a prison sentence of six-months to three-years.

The university fired Pablo Malavenda shortly after his arrest last year.
