In his state of the city address this week, Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski mentioned that drug arrests were way up, year over year.

Any time there’s such a large change in a number like this, the question becomes: was there more crime, were police focusing more effort on rooting it out, or both?

We address those questions this week on WBAA’s Ask The Mayor.

Also on today’s show, a listener wants to know the mayor’s stance on fostering clean energy development and whether he’ll join South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg in saying Lafayette will move toward using nothing but renewables.

And another listener wants to hear about how the bicycle safety procedures talked about in 2017 will be implemented in 2018.
