Ask The Mayor: Frankfort's Chris McBarnes On Downtown Plans And How To Fund Them

City of Frankfort

To complete a new vision for Frankfort’s downtown, the city and county will have to find $10-20 million .

But first, say some consultants who recently completed a report on that redesign, the city has a number of cosmetic challenges to overcome.

This week on WBAA’s Ask The Mayor, we talk to Frankfort’s Chris McBarnes about where he hopes to get the money and what needs to be cleaned up first.

Also on today’s program, Mayor McBarnes has accepted a spot on Greater Lafayette Commerce's board of directors. But when that group wanted him to speak at a regional economic development summit, the mayor says it only sent an invite second-hand and only a week before the date.

We ask what that says about Frankfort's role in regional planning and whether Greater Lafayette should be seen more as a collaborator or as a competitor.
