Ask The Mayor: Crawfordsville's Todd Barton Sets 2017 Goals

When the head of the budget-writing House Ways and Means Committee is from your city, there’s the temptation to ask for some carve-outs – hometown perks, if you will – in the state’s spending plan.

That’s the case for Crawfordsville Mayor Todd Barton with Rep. Tim Brown (R-Crawfordsville).

and on today’s final show of 2017, we’ll ask if that’s possible or if Rep. Brown has reverted to his old nickname of “Dr. No."

Also: the city’s new rental property ordinance has passed, but what it asks of landlords is fairly small.

Is a $5 registration fee really going to deter any bad behavior, especially when the city has to give three days’ notice before checking on a suspect property?
