WBAA Job Opportunities
WBAA News is looking for its next great reporter – and we’re ready to support you and your work!
IF YOU’RE JUST STARTING OUT:
WBAA is one of the best starter stations in the country. We have an editor who will make your work better and a culture which is supportive of young reporters who are honing their trade. We’re just a short distance from Chicago and Indianapolis, and many people who’ve worked in our market have gone on to those markets.
IF YOU’RE A SEASONED REPORTER LOOKING FOR A BETTER GIG:
The Greater Lafayette area is an inexpensive, welcoming place to settle, raise a family and enjoy working in public radio. We’re close to lots of attractions (via both highway and Amtrak) and we foster an atmosphere that prizes quality-before-quantity, ethical journalism over “feeding the beast.”
NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE:
- The salary -- $42,500! And you get great Purdue University benefits with that, too (retirement plan, 22 days off per year, health insurance, etc).
- Come work in an award-winning newsroom. WBAA has won several regional and national awards in just the last three years and we want you to win some, too.
- Ours is a close-knit staff that genuinely likes one another – and that can be hard to find!
We plan to start interviews as soon as applications start rolling in, so don’t delay -- we’re going to move fast and you don’t want to miss out!
