Event Description

Hoosier Quilts Exhibit at the Haan Museum

Take a trip through time at the Hoosier Quilts: A Patchwork of Periods and Styles exhibition at the Haan Mansion Museum of Indiana Art. See quilts from the 1800’s, including redwork, embroidered, grandmother’s flower garden, trapunto, and crazy quilts. Move forward to the 1930’s, and you’ll see patterns such as feed sack, yo-yo, wedding ring, flower basket and tulip quilts, plus a “trip around the world” postage stamp quilt with over 9000 pieces. Contemporary and reproduction quilts include appliqué, Dear Jane, a reproduction of a 1776 Hession Soldier quilt, and a quilt made for Indiana’s Bicentennial. There are quilts to fit beds, cribs, and doll beds as well as wall hangings, clothing and more.
