Event Description

Twelve artists from Purdue University’s Art & Design program will hold an installation exhibition, titled -97.076585 40.408170, at Ross Camp. This 170-acre site dedicated by David Ross in 1926 was originally established for Purdue's civil engineering program as Ross Summer Surveying Camp until 1960, where it later hosted a 4-H camp for several years. Ross Camp is now maintained by the Tippecanoe County Park and Recreations Department. With the camp's history in mind, along with the artists’ personal reactions, students and guest artists explore and respond to 4 of the camp’s aging buildings in unique and sensory ways. These 12 installations will provide a contemporary and challenging art experience for the viewing audience. The opening reception will take place on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 6-9pm and remain open for viewing November 18-19 from 1-5pm. Artists Featured are: Janna Arhndt Caroline E. O.
